Together with ancestor spirits, Kuy believe in other mother nature spirits which includes that of the watch lizard (takuat) which they feel to be symbol of fertility. The Kuy carry out ceremonies to propitiate the takuat spirit and request fertility from nature. They might also take the tail with the lizard to make use of in divination ceremonies.
